Webinar, 25 October, 2022 - LESI Thought Leadership Program is a professional learning series organized by LES International; a “deep dive” on three topical tracks such as Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), Automotive and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Organized and facilitated by licensing industry experts, the Thought Leadership Program want to lead and inform on intellectual property policy and the tactical use of IP assets.

With a longstanding expertise in the licensing of worldwide-standardized technology, Sisvel is proud to support the track on SEPs.

The primer of the series is entitled “An Overview on Standard Essential Patents” and is scheduled on October 25 at 2 p.m. CET.

The session provides an introduction to the series, analyzing Standard Essential Patents from four different points of views - from those inside Standard Setting Organizations (SSOs), from Industry, from the Licensing perspective and those viewing the legal implications.

The next 3 sessions in this track will look at specific standards such as Mobile Communications, Wi-Fi and Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB), in particular:

  • November 9, 2022 – “Transactional efficiency at its best: how to remove friction in the mobile communication market”.

  • January 2023 – “SEP licensing in the Wi-Fi space: how to remove friction in a market of 3 billion devices a year”.

  • March 2023 – “The golden standard of patent pooling: DVB and its pools”.

A final session on “The future of SEP licensing” will be held in person at the LESI 2023 Conference in Montreal (30 April - 2 May, 2023) pulling to get the key take aways from our year-long discussions.
