Luxembourg, 11^th November 2025 – Panasonic Automotive Systems (PAS) has become the latest licensee of the Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 patent pool.

The deal, which was reached amicably, provides PAS with access to close to 2,000 patents (245 patent families) recognised to date, through the pool’s process of independent patent evaluations, as essential to the 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 standard.

PAS is a global Tier 1 automotive supplier headquartered in Japan that provides advanced proprietary technologies such as infotainment systems to automakers. The company divested from Panasonic at the start of 2025.

This is the Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 pool’s first deal within the automotive supply chain, aside from ones involving its founding members. The programme offers compliant licensees a $0.50 per device royalty rate for all products other than enterprise access points.

The Sisvel Wi-Fi 6 pool has seen a surge in activity over the last two years, with companies such as Cisco, Netgear and Acer all taking licences. In total, well over 30 entities have become licensees since the programme was established in July 2022.
