Kyocera joins Sisvel Cellular IoT pool as a licensor
Luxembourg, 10th July 2025 - Japanese multinational Kyocera has become the latest company to join the Sisvel Cellular IoT pool as a licensor. This takes the total of patent owners participating in the programme to 36 and further enhances its one-stop licensing solution for LTE-M and NB-IoT technology.
Sisvel Cellular IoT launched in 2022. The aggregated portfolios it now offers contain well over 50% of all LTE-M and NB-IoT standard essential patents (SEPs). A Sisvel Cellular IoT licence provides device makers with access to this IP through one fast and easy transaction. Rates start at just US$0.08 per device.
The licensors participating in the Sisvel Cellular IoT pool come from across the telecoms and IoT value chain. They include mobile infrastructure vendors, product and component makers and network operators. By pooling their patents in the programme, they simplify the licensing landscape and accelerate the adoption of cellular IoT technologies.
“Kyocera’s decision to license its patents through the Sisvel Cellular IoT pool is another important moment,” says programme manager Sven Torringer. “It makes our single, transparent licence offer even more attractive and is further evidence that the major IoT players see the pool as a compelling way to bring predictability and efficiency to a complex, rapidly evolving technology space. Combine this with the growing number of licensing deals we are getting done and the partnership agreements we are reaching with module makers, and it’s clear industry is coalescing around the Sisvel Cellular IoT solution.”
