Panasonic joins Sisvel Cellular IoT pool as 35th patent owner
LUXEMBOURG, 29 May – Panasonic has become the 35th patent owner to join the Sisvel Cellular IoT pool, further cementing the programme’s position as a one-stop licensing solution for LTE-M and NB-IoT technology.
Sisvel Cellular IoT launched with 20 patent owners in 2022 and has since grown to comprise 35 separate portfolios representing more than 50% of all LTE-M and NB-IoT SEPs. IoT device makers can gain access to all these rights through one fast and easy transaction, with rates starting at just US$0.08 per device.
Panasonic joins a roster of companies from across the telecoms and IoT value chain – including mobile infrastructure vendors, product and component makers and network operators – in helping to simplify the licensing landscape and accelerate the adoption of cellular IoT technologies.
“We are pleased to welcome Panasonic, a long-standing connectivity innovator, to the Sisvel Cellular IoT pool,” says programme manager Sven Torringer. “By uniting 35 patent owners behind a single, transparent pool licence offering, we have brought unprecedented predictability to cellular IoT licensing. Our broad patent coverage, together with recent successes closing licence deals and partnering with module makers, demonstrates that the industry is coalescing around our solution.”
